UNIT

Modular Intelligence in Spatial Design

Design-Strategy Innovation Lab

Unit operates at the intersection of modular furniture, spatial design, and strategic thinking. We translate Swiss minimalism and modular logic into tangible, functional environments that adapt to human needs.

Our approach combines product-driven design with research-driven experimentation — exploring materiality, spatial psychology, and digital fabrication to create systems that respond to change.

Where Form Meets Intelligence

We believe spatial design should embody systematic thinking. Each modular component we create is part of a larger ecosystem — scalable, reconfigurable, and refined through iterative prototyping.

Unit is not simply furniture. It is an exploration of how modular architecture can shape behavior, enhance productivity, and create environments that evolve alongside their inhabitants.

Design is the intelligence made visible through structure.

The Unit Framework

Our practice is structured around three interconnected pillars that define our approach to modular design and spatial innovation.

Systems

Modular furniture ecosystems engineered for adaptability. From individual workstations to full spatial configurations, our systems scale with precision and purpose.

Thinking

Research-driven exploration of materiality, fabrication techniques, and spatial psychology. We document our process, publish frameworks, and share experimental prototypes.

Projects

Strategic collaborations with architects, creative studios, and forward-thinking brands. Real-world applications demonstrate how modularity adapts to unique contexts.

"We design systems, not singular objects. The intelligence lies not in individual pieces, but in how they connect, adapt, and scale across environments."

Featured Project: Studio Reconfiguration

Adaptive Workspace for Creative Agency

Commissioned by a 40-person design studio in Berlin, this project demonstrates Unit's modular logic applied to high-density creative environments. The system needed to accommodate collaborative zones, focused work areas, and frequent spatial reconfiguration.

System Components:
  • Modular desk units with integrated cable management
  • Acoustic divider panels in charcoal felt and powder-coated steel
  • Rolling storage carts that double as mobile presentation surfaces
  • Flexible shelving systems with adjustable heights

The entire 850m² space can be reconfigured in under four hours, allowing the studio to shift between different work modes without external contractors.
